Course objectives:
To know metallic alloys, their properties and their applications. To be able to analyze and discuss mechanical tests, such as tensile tests and hardness tests. To know the mechanical behavior of metals and be able to do a failure analysis. To be able to choose the manufacturing processes to obtain components with the desired properties. To be able to define the test methods able to evaluate the performances of the components. To know the casting processes, the machining processes and the plastic deformation processes.

Study of the forces acting during the process, evaluation of the power required. Study of the Machining of metals. Turning, Drilling, Milling. Study of the general mechanisms, Merchant model, Taylor Model. Study of the equipments used for the manufacturing processes.
